Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about speech therapy and my recommendations.
How does a consultation work?
During the first session, I evaluate your child's skills using age-appropriate tests to identify both challenges and strengths.
After the assessment, I develop a personalized support plan with you, considering your expectations and your child's pace.
Follow-up sessions include engaging, targeted, and gradual exercises to enhance language, communication, or learning skills.
What signs might indicate speech difficulties?
You should consider a consultation if your child:
- speaks little or shows speech delays
- mispronounces certain sounds
- has difficulty forming sentences
- is hard to understand
- Avoid speaking or frequently repeating words
These signs may indicate language delays, speech sound issues, stuttering, or language development disorders. Early intervention can help reduce learning difficulties and support healthy communication development.
Why should you trust me?
As a dedicated speech therapist, I provide each child with compassionate care, attentive listening, and personalized strategies tailored to their unique needs.
My goal is lasting improvement, confident communication, and helping your child regain joy and self-confidence in their abilities.
At what age can a child start seeing a speech therapist?
There is no minimum age to start therapy.
You can book an appointment as soon as you notice any difficulties, concerns, or developmental delays.
I work with toddlers, children, preteens, and teenagers on challenges such as spoken and written language, learning difficulties, stuttering, articulation, dyslexia, dyscalculia, attention issues, and more.
Early intervention leads to faster and more natural progress.
How long does therapy usually last?
The duration of therapy depends on your child's individual needs.
Some challenges improve within weeks, while others require longer, ongoing support.
After the assessment, I create a personalized program with a schedule tailored to your child's pace and profile. The plan is adjusted as they progress, with goals updated accordingly.
The focus is on steady, positive, and lasting progress rather than rushing.
How can I prepare my child for their first appointment?
No special preparation is needed.
Just tell your child that we will:
- Play games
- Discuss
- View Photos
- Join Age-Appropriate Activities
The goal is for them to feel comfortable, confident, and welcomed.
You may also bring:
- Previous Reports or Assessments
- Any Information You Find Helpful
My role is to create a safe and supportive environment from the very first session.
